The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is streamlining the entire licensing process- whether you're applying for or renewing an operator's license, commercial license, motorcycle license, combination license, learner's permit or ID card.

All licensing services will gradually move from the Office of Circuit Court Clerk in every county to Driver Licensing Regional Offices by June 30, 2022. Kentucky State Police will still oversee all written and road testing.

A list of regional offices is below and more locations will be added soon. Any Kentucky resident is welcome to schedule an appointment at an open Driver Licensing Regional Office.

Renew your current standard license or REAL ID card online, as long as your name or address haven't changed.

No Waiting Around

After paying, you’ll immediately receive a temporary document you can use as your ID until your permanent, more secure card arrives in the mail.

Visit Any Office

You can visit ANY regional office, regardless of where you live.

Doubled Card Lifespan

You can choose a card that is valid for four or eight years.
