MEDICAL CERTIFICATION EXTENSIONS

FMCSA has extended the waiver through August 31, 2021 for CDL or CLP holders who have proof of a valid medical certification or medical variance that
expired on or after March 1, 2021.

This FMCSA extension does not apply to any CDL/CLP holder with the S endorsement or driver in the Kentucky Intrastate Medical Waiver Program.

All previous waivers issued by FMCSA are set to expire on February 28, 2021.
Drivers are required to submit current medical certificates or be downgraded when the medical certificate we have on file expires. A commercial license will require written/vision testing if it has been expired for over a year from the expiration date listed on the license in your possession.

New Driver Licensing Regional Offices

Driver Licensing Services are gradually transferring from Circuit Clerks to Driver Licensing Regional Offices by June 30, 2022.

Emergency Order Regarding Exemption of Hours of Service and Stoppage at Weigh Stations

A Declaration of Emergency has been issued by Transportation Cabinet Secretary Jim Gray. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) issued an amended regional emergency declaration providing regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicles transporting gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, ethanol, and other refined petroleum products throughout the affected states.
