The
No Pass/No Drive Law - KRS 159.051 went into effect on August 1, 2007. This law applies to all students ages 15 to 17 who are applying for a driver’s permit or license in Kentucky.
1. What does this mean for students?
When a 15 to 17-year-old goes to a Driver Licensing Regional Office to get a permit or license, they must bring a School Compliance Verification Form. This form shows that the student is meeting the requirements of the No Pass/No Drive Law (KRS 159.051).
2. Where do students get this form?
Public or private school students: Get the form from your school.
Other students (including homeschoolers or alternative schooling): Get the form from your local school district office.
Without this form, the student will not be allowed to get a permit or license.
3. What happens if a student drops out or has failing grades?
