Welcome to the status definitions page for Rebuilt applications at kyrebuilts.com. Below, you will find explanations of the various statuses you may encounter during the application process for a Rebuilt vehicle title. Understanding these statuses will help you navigate the steps involved more effectively.
1. Received: This status indicates that the Motor Vehicle Licensing (MVL) has received the applicant's Rebuilt application. At this stage, the application is under review, and MVL has not yet rendered a decision. Applicants are advised to wait for further updates as their applications progress through the necessary checks.
2. Approved: When your application status is marked as "Approved," it means that MVL has processed your Rebuilt application successfully. Applicants with this status are cleared to title the vehicle at their county clerk’s office. If the current salvage title was issued in Kentucky, the county clerk will be able to retrieve the Rebuilt Approval Letter in the PODD document storage system. If the current salvage title is from out of state, MVL has mailed a Rebuilt Approval Letter to the applicant using the address provided in the original submission.
3. Pended: The "Pended" status signifies that MVL has processed the Rebuilt application but requires additional documentation to proceed. Whether the current salvage title is from Kentucky or out of state, MVL has mailed back the original documents along with a Rebuilt Pended Letter, which includes detailed information about the additional items needed to complete the application process. This correspondence is sent to the address provided in the original submission.
4. Pend Documents Received: The "Pend Documents Received" status signifies that MVL previously processed a Rebuilt application and requested additional documents from the applicant. MVL has received documents from the applicant but has not yet reviewed them to ensure that the information received is sufficient to satisfy the request. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing. Once processed, MVL will issue either an Approved status or another Pended letter will be mailed to the applicant.
5. Titled: This status indicates that the Rebuilt Approval from MVL has been used by a county clerk to create a complete Rebuilt title. Once the county clerk completes checkout of the title, each vehicle in KY is run through an NCIC theft check and a national title data base named NMVTIS. In most cases this happens within 30 minutes and Rebuilt titles (once cleared) are sent to the title printer within two business days. Once printed they will be mailed to you via USPS.
Please ensure that your contact information is current and accurate to avoid any delays in receiving necessary correspondence from MVL.
