Kentucky is rolling out 4 new standard plates for vehicles and 2 new plates for motorcycles beginning January 1, 2024. At the same time, the current standard plates and the Team Kentucky plates will be retired from use and they will no longer be available to issue on a vehicle, including as personalized plates.
Any Kentucky resident who owns a vehicle may apply for a Kentucky Certificate of Title and Registration at the County Clerk's office in the owner's county of residence or the county where the vehicle is primarily operated
County Clerks issue documentation for vehicles, such as License Plates, Titles, and Disabled Placards.
To find out if your boat’s HIN is recorded in Kentucky’s database, examine your registration certificate/receipt issued to you at the time of your last renewal.
A photo I.D. or piece of physical mail (with a current postmark), along with the title must be presented to the County Clerk of the owner's county of residence.
