myDrive is Kentucky’s new driver services online portal. Eligible customers can use myDrive to complete services online, manage their account, and prepare for an in-person visit.

Yes. To access eligible Kentucky driver licensing services online, customers will need to create a myDrive account and link the account to their credential using a Letter ID.

Yes. While myDrive is not an app, it is designed to work on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

Yes. In-person services are still available at Driver Licensing Regional Offices. Completing a pre-application on myDrive before your visit may help save time and make your visit easier.

Customers will need a unique Letter ID alphanumeric code from a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet document dated on or after June 6, 2026, and issued within the last 60 days to connect their account to their credential.

Don’t have a Letter ID? Request one to be sent by mail when creating your myDrive account, or visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office. Delivery typically takes 5–10 business days.

If you do not have a Letter ID, you can request one to be mailed to you when creating your myDrive account or visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office for assistance.

Letter IDs can only be mailed to the mailing address on file. The letter typically arrives within 5–10 business days.

To update your address, visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office. Before your visit, create a myDrive account and complete a pre-application to help speed up the process.

Bring a proof of Kentucky residency showing your current address.

After your address change is processed, you'll receive a temporary credential containing a unique Letter ID. Use this Letter ID to link your credential to your myDrive account allowing you to access eligible online driver services.

Yes. You can create a myDrive account and complete a pre-application before visiting a Driver Licensing Regional Office. Completing a pre-application can help reduce processing time and make your office visit easier.

You do not need to link your myDrive account to your credential to complete a pre-application.

Yes. You’ll need to either visit a Regional Office to complete a vision screening at no cost or upload your TC 94-202 Form, completed and signed by a vision specialist or KYTC-credentialed medical provider.

No. Driver’s licenses, permits, and ID cards are mailed to the address listed on your record after processing. Most credentials arrive within 10–15 business days.

You will receive a temporary document through your myDrive account and by email.

Yes. myDrive allows customers to view the status of eligible driver licensing transactions and track the progress of credential requests.

CDL holders can use myDrive for eligible CDL services, including:

• Upload a military skills waiver
• Apply for a commercial medical waiver
• Update your commercial self-certification

Yes. Kentucky's online CDL services have moved from myCDL to myDrive.

To access CDL online services, you'll need to create a myDrive account and link it to your Kentucky CDL using a unique Letter ID.

Your myCDL portal login credentials cannot be used to sign in to myDrive. All customers must create a new myDrive account.

If you do not have a Letter ID, you can request one by mail when creating your myDrive account or visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office.

Yes. Non-U.S. citizens can create a myDrive account and complete a pre-application before visiting a Driver Licensing Regional Office.

However, non-U.S. citizens are not currently eligible to link their credential to a myDrive account or access online driver services. Credential linking requires Social Security Online Verification, which is not available for non-U.S. citizen credentials.

No. Only Kentucky residents with a Kentucky credential are eligible to use myDrive to pay a reinstatement fee online.
