Join more than 130K Kentuckians who have renewed their vehicle registration online this year! All you need is your title number, plate number and a credit card.
As of July 19, 2023, the letters“I”, “Q” and “U” have been eliminated from all new personalized plate applications. This will be consistent with the visibility rules already in place for standard plates.
Any Kentucky resident who owns a vehicle may apply for a Kentucky Certificate of Title and Registration at the County Clerk's office in the owner's county of residence or the county where the vehicle is primarily operated
County Clerks issue documentation for vehicles, such as License Plates, Titles, and Disabled Placards.
To find out if your boat’s HIN is recorded in Kentucky’s database, examine your registration certificate/receipt issued to you at the time of your last renewal.
A photo I.D. or piece of physical mail (with a current postmark), along with the title must be presented to the County Clerk of the owner's county of residence.
