REAL ID ENFORCEMENT DATED EXTENDED
Governor Andy Beshear announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended the REAL ID Act enforcement date by two years offering Kentuckians, and residents of other states, more time to request a compliant driving or identity credential that maintains air travel access and military base entry.
The enforcement date has been moved from May 3, 2023 to May 7, 2025.

Governor Andy Beshear has signed an extension to the executive order waiving replacement fees for driver’s licenses, permits and ID cards for flood-impacted residents of the following 13 counties: Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe until July 31, 2023.
