  • ​​​​REBUILT APPLICATIONS (Will not be processed on the day of receipt):

    • ​Drop-off boxes are available at KYTC on the 1st Floor Entrance or 2nd Floor at the One Stop Shop

    • Applications will be processed in the order they are received.


  • ​​​​TITLE HISTORY REQUESTS:

    • ​Drop-off boxes are available at KYTC on the 1st Floor Entrance or 2nd Floor at the One Stop Shop

    • Applications will be processed within 3 to 5 business days


  • ​​SPEED TITLES:

    • ​Speed Titles are processed through your local County Clerk’s Office.

    • ​Applications will be mailed to the applicant.​


​ Walk-In Services Offered

  • ​Transit Tags

    • Offered to out-of-state residents purchasing a privately owned Kentucky-titled vehicle from an individual within Kentucky. There is a $5.00 fee for each transit tag. Valid for 15 days.​

  • Commercial Vehicle Temporary

    • Any manufacturer, dealer, or distributor engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, or customizing truck tractors or motor trucks may obtain a commercial vehicle temporary registration placard from the Department of Vehicle Regulation. There is a $100.00 fee for each commercial vehicle temporary placard. Valid for 30 days.

  • Commercial TrailerTemporary

    • Any manufacturer, dealer, or distributor engaged in the business of manufacturing, selling, or customizing commercial semitrailers or commercial trailers may obtain a commercial trailer temporary registration placard from the Department of Vehicle Regulation. There is a $5.00 fee for each commercial trailer temporary placard. Valid for 30 days.

MOTOR CARRIERS

​​Before you visit or drop off at the One Stop Shop, please review the services below as operating hours, services and processes have changed. We also provide a drop-off box in the main lobby.

​ Walk-In Services Offered

We will assist you with obtaining your credentials and tax filings online at our customer kiosk. 

  • ​IRP– IRP plates are mailed in order to verify the established place of business as defined by the IRP articles of agreement

    • New IRP accounts are drop-off only.

    • Visit the IRP page to obtain a list of all required documents for a new IRP account.

    • Verify your Federal authority (DOT) is active. We do not have access to update your federal status.

    • Account requests are processed in the order received; allow up to 14 business days for review/processing.

    • An incomplete or inaccurate request will be rejected back to the customer for corrections.
