DRIVING HISTORY RECORDS
All Kentucky driver’s license holders have a driving history record. The record contains identifying information, any licenses that have been issued to you, any traffic conviction information, and any administrative entries regarding your driving privileges.
Anyone may obtain a Three-Year Driving History Record (DHR); however, it contains no personal information such as an address, social security number, and description.
A Full Driving History Record (DHR) contains identifying information, licenses issued to you, traffic conviction information, administrative entries regarding your driving privileges, all CDL-related requirements, and other information. To obtain a full DHR on someone other than yourself, you must have a notarized release from the driver or a subpoena.
OPTIONS TO PURCHASE A DHR
1. Online
Only a three-year DHR may be obtained online. The cost is $6.00.
A confirmation email will be sent to you within minutes of completing the request.
Using the link in the confirmation email, log into the system to download the record(s).

2. In-Person (at a Driver Licensing Regional Office)
A three-year or a full DHR can be obtained at any Driver Licensing Regional office. All offices are limited on walk-in slots; an appointment is highly recommended.
The cost is $3.00 and can be paid with a debit/credit card (processing fee applies), money order, or cashier's check. No personal checks or cash will be accepted.
The DHR will be provided to the requester in person at the Regional office.
3. By Mail (TC 94-195 DHR Request Form)
A three-year or full DHR can be purchased by mail.
The cost is $3.00 and can be paid with a certified cashier's check or money order (personal checks are not accepted) made payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer.
KYTC will mail the DHR to the address provided on the TC 94-195 form.

CLEARANCE LETTER
A clearance letter from Kentucky is a certified copy of a full driving history record. This letter/record is not available to purchase online.
